The Royal Society of NSW, based in Sydney, makes a number of prestigious awards, mainly in the field of science.

The Southern Highlands Branch of the Society sponsors an annual science award at Bowral High School. In 2019 two students were also supported by the branch to attend a science camp at Nanning, China, from 24-30 September 2019.

The Southern Highlands Branch also sponsors the annual Philosophy Essay Competition run by the Philosophy in Schools Association, NSW.

The branch is discussing possible awards or sponsorships with other schools in the Southern Highlands. If your school (in the Southern Highlands of NSW) could be interested in a science or philosophy sponsorship, please contact us.
